Finally, I see signs of recovery for my flu. :)

While I was showering last night, I was thinking of what defines a good teacher. I used to think that a teacher who gives good notes, good tips, and ensures good grades at the end of the day makes a good teacher. And for the result oriented me last time, that's enough.

Despite having numerous teacher idols at different stages of my education, surprisingly, I only have strong impressions of the minority. To make it to my teacher idol list, I'm quite sure the teacher displayed a certain level of charisma and charm in the classroom. And for those who left a strong impression, it's not only because of their effective classroom management skills, but their concern and support for me at that time. They taught me skills beyond the content of the syllabus, and they pushed me to attain greater heights. These teachers made a difference to my life.

Talking about school life, like what I had told some of my friends in university, I had a fair share of both good and bad school days last time. Thankfully, no matter how bad things used to be, they all happened to be blessings in disguise. They made me learn, they made me grow up. It's both the good experiences and the bad experiences that shape the present me. Indeed, schools play a very important role in our lives. The people we meet in school play a role in molding our character.

I think everyone should always have something which he/she feels proud of. He may feel proud of himself, proud of someone close to him, proud of something he owns, or proud of his goal etc. It is important for us to think positively of ourselves, and at the same time, know our flaws and work towards improving ourselves.

Enough of my rantings. Time to take a rest and then prove some results for my wavelets module. BTW, I forgot to say that we managed to open the class with 6 registered students. Haha. Two engine students, one undergraduate, one part-time math graduate, one exchange student and me. Nevertheless, I am glad that class is opened. :) I had been planning for what modules to take in masters year, ever since my third year as an undergraduate, and wavelets was part of the plan. Planning modules is like a chess game, sometimes, one wrong move can make you lose the whole game. And since I can only spend one year for masters, I need to make sure nothing goes wrong.

Before I go, let me introduce two new friends from hk disneyland:

piglet

donald

Haha. They are magnets. But no where to stick them. They'll stand with my lego toys for the time being.
